Private cars (types 1, 2 and 3) need an inspection once they reach 7 years from first registration. Motorcycles need one at 5 years. You can have it done up to 3 months before your road tax expires.
Modified vehicles, vehicles that changed colour, engine or fuel type, and vehicles with tax overdue by more than a year must go to a Department of Land Transport office instead.
